Lakota Ann “Koty” Antelope, 48, of Bullhead, SD, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Mobridge Regional Hospital, Mobridge, SD.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. CDT, Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Bullhead. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church. There will be a procession from the bay area at Grand River Casino, Mobridge.
Lakota Ann Antelope, also known as “Koty,” was born on August 5, 1976, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to Leatrice Hollow and David Antelope.
She attended Rock Creek School in Bullhead, McIntosh High School, and completed her education at Sitting Bull College in Fort Yates, North Dakota.
Koty worked for several years at Teton Times in McLaughlin and at The Boys and Girls Club of the Grand River Area. She had a generous spirit and a deep love for helping others, especially youth.
Creative and kindhearted, Koty enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing, cooking, and collecting rocks. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures and valued quality time with her loved ones. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by her grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart.
Lakota “Koty” Antelope will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Koty is survived by her children: Ashley Fox (Sky Byington), Micaela Fox, Casey and Angel Brownotter, Jre and Josie Antelope, Gary “Yamni” Little Bird III, Hoksila Little Bird, and Dakota Miller; mother, Leatrice Hendricks; father, David Antelope; sisters: Cari Rose and Leatrice “Trish” Ortley; brothers: Marlon and Silas Ortley; and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Ortley Jr; sister, Theresa Ortley; granddaughter, Aiza Sky Byington; and nephew, Cale Bendickson.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Koty’s arrangements.




Auntie Darlene loves you so much Koty. So glad I got to meet you and spend time with you.
To her grieving family, I’m so sorry for your loss. She will be missed by many.

I'll miss your laugh, and your teasing around. Your humor reminding me of my dad,, your no longer in pain cuz, tell my daddy , I miss him a whole bunch. U get to go to grandma, your sister. You had a good life , brought some children in to live on your memories. Out to auntie and the rest of the cousins. Be strong for each other, we all gonna die one day. But it's sad to lose one of us.
