Ardyce L. Hadrick, 92, of Faulkton passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Faulkton Senior Living. 

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the United Church of Faulkton with Pastor Shawn Stoll officiating.  Burial will follow at the Faulkton Cemetery.  A prayer service will be 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the church with visitation one-hour prior. *The family ask for everyone to be comfortable and dress causal. 

Ardyce Lawayne Witte was born on June 18, 1932, in Orient, SD, to Arthur and Mildred (Leafgreen) Witte.  She grew up on a farm outside of Orient, along with her eight younger siblings.  She attended school in Orient, played basketball in high school, and graduated in 1950.  She then attended nursing school in Pierre and earned her LPN nursing degree.  She moved back to Faulkton, SD, and started her nursing career at the Faulk County Memorial Hospital, working there for over 54 1/2 years and one year at Meadows Assisted Living.  

She married Charles Hadrick on September 26, 1954, at the Faulkton Methodist Church.  Four children joined them, Lester, Larry, Duane and Betty.  

Ardyce was instrumental in starting the Faulkton Ambulance Service and served on the ambulance crew.  Ardyce was a member of the United Church of Faulkton.  She was involved in the Faulkton community and belonged to the Order of Eastern Star, VFW Auxiliary Post 3179, Legion Auxiliary Post 102 and Autumn Leaves.  She loved playing cards, especially pinochle, with her family and friends.  She also enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, needlework and reading.  Many of her beautiful quilts and afghans are treasured by her family.  

Ardyce will be forever loved by her children: Lester and Gloria Hadrick, Larry and Laurie Hadrick, Duane and Deb Hadrick, and Betty and Tim Geist; grandchildren: Josie and Rich Benz, Angie Misterek, Derek and Krista Hadrick, Emily Hadrick, Nathan Hadrick, Chris and Erica Hadrick, Shanna and Jamie Scherbenske, Andee and Kody Conlon, Nathan and Lindsey Geist, Amanda and Frank Besser; great grandchildren: Colton Barnett, Keelyn Barnett, Ashton Hadrick, Raelyn Hadrick, Dayea Eugenio, Theodore Hadrick, Emerson Hadrick, Weston Scherbenske, Scherbenske Twins, Jackson Geist, and Harlow Besser. She will also be missed by her siblings and spouses: Burt and Pauline Witte, Pete and Mary Witte, Judy and Duane Smith, Chuck and Bridgette Witte, Mary Ann Worm, Gordon and Karen Witte, her sisters-in-law, Jean Hadrick, Jan Hadrick and Marilyn Hadrick, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.  

Ardyce was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents, Arthur and Mildred Witte; father and mother-in-law, Louis and Bertha Hadrick; siblings and in-laws: Jim and Donna Witte, Patty Meier, Paul Worm, Donald Hadrick, Harold Hadrick, and Robert Hadrick; grandson, Gabriel Geist; great grandchildren, Charlotte Hadrick and Connor Geist; nephews, James Worm and Charles Witte; and great-nephew, Shadoe Pfiefer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Eastern Star Home in Redfield, 126 W 12th Ave, Redfield, SD 57469, Faulkton Area Medical Center Foundation, PO Box 100, Faulkton, SD 57438, Faulkton Senior Nutrition Program, PO Box 391, Faulkton, SD 57438, or a charity of your choice.  

Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Ardyce’s arrangements.

  6. Sorry to hear about Ardyce. She was our neighbor,friend,and a hard working nurse.We knew the family well,Our children played together. Larry and Ardyce made many,many ambulance trips together early in the mornigs or late at night.She was a wonderful person.She will be greatly missed.God's bless her.
