Karri Little Wounded

Karri Little Wounded-St John, 45, of Dupree, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Monument Health, Rapid City, SD.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. MDT, Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Dupree Multi-Purpose Building. Burial will follow in the Dupree City Cemetery, Dupree. A wake will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 18, 2025, at the multi-purpose building with a procession from the 2-Mile east of Dupree at 4:00 p.m.
Karri Lee Little Wounded-St John, or “Bozo” as her dad called her, was born on December 29, 1979, to the late Thurman W. Little Wounded Sr. and JoAnn Red Bear. Karri lived in Dupree and Eagle Butte throughout her childhood and was currently living in Rapid City at the time of her passing.
Karri mainly lived in Dupree while attending school, and she graduated from Dupree High School. While attending high school, she was blessed with her first daughter, Joraynu Jade Condon. She stayed focused while raising her daughter and graduated in 1998. She later had three more daughters: Taylor Paige Bird Horse, Alayna “AJ” St John, and Amiyah St John.
Karri had an outgoing personality and enjoyed having fun and joking. From this she gained a lot of friends, especially many sisters because she grew close to each and every one of them and cared about them. She also had a strong love for animals, taking in stray cats and dogs. Karri was beautiful and full of life. Karri loved the summer, especially being near the water, She loved Christmas and playing pool with her friends. She loved her girls and being grandma to her two grandsons who she loved very much. She also had many nieces and nephews that she loved.
She had various jobs and obtained her CNA certificate, which led her to work at nursing homes, which she loved to do.
Karri is survived by her daughters: Amiyah St John, Alayna St John, and Taylor Bird Horse; grandchildren, Amius St John and Luta St John; siblings: Jonathan (Melanie) Little Wounded, Karmen (Bevin) Little Wounded, Heidi High Elk, Stephanie (Leeann) and Jamari Little Wounded, Thurman Little Wounded Jr., Tristan Little Wounded, Noah Little Wounded, and Brionne Blue Arm; adored grandchildren, Amaius St John and Luta St John; uncle, Jimmy (Charlene) Little Wounded, aunties: Carole Little Wounded, Patti Little Wounded, Ruth Little Wounded, Karen Little Wounded, Jolynn (Servando) Rivera, Dorothy Little Wounded; and on her mother’s side her uncle, Emmanuel Red Bear; aunties, Gloria Laundreaux and family, Cindy Shad and family; all her sister cousins and sister friends; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Preceding her in death is her daughter, Jorayna Condon; mother, Joann Red Bear; father, Thurman Little Wounded Sr.; nephew, Trevor Little Wounded; paternal grandparents, Nathan and Flora Little Wounded; maternal grandparents, Emanual Sr. and Irene Red Bear.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Karri’s arrangements.

I will miss Kari she was a happy Lady, was always smiling, willing to you up in spirits if having a bad day, always had a big heart. She was a caring person.
From the very first time we played Barbies together, to the time us tough Dupree chicks tried to beat up Haps at the swings (me, you, Jess), to being the coolest girls in Eagle Butte Chinatown playground and bball courts, to having the wildest times at House #100, to the struggle in the hills He Sapa as roomies tryna pay the bills and showing the ladies' how it's done at Teddie's ladies night's, we loved, we laughed, we watched each other's children grow and become adults, we are and always will be sisters, there is no word for goodbye in Lakota, only I'll see you again
Karri, im so so sorry i wasnt there!! Karri brady aka ms karri baby. In the short time we knew each other, you made an impression on me like no one has. You were always thinking positively. Always smiling and joking. I will always remember that day at lunch at ma cuallis in rapid city!!! You made me laugh so much!!! Thank you. Thank you. I'll make that playlist we talked about. Im so sorry i didnt get to say goodbye. But i will. Thank you for coming into My life. And giving me so many memories in such a short time. I love you and i'll see you when i get there.
