Cylinda Bear Eagle

Cylinda Bear Eagle, 56, of Eagle Butte, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Monument Health, Rapid City, SD.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. MDT, Friday May 2, 2025, at CRST Bingo Hall, Eagle Butte. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Bridger. Wake services will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the hall with a procession from the 4-Mile at 4:00 p.m.
Cylinda Rose Bear Eagle, aka Pejuta Waken Win, was born October 19, 1968 at Eagle Butte I.H.S. Hospital to Matthew A. Bear Eagle Sr. and Darlene A. LaBlanc. She grew up on Sesame St. all her young life, living her Lakota way of life. Cylinda graduated from CEB High School and went on to receive her associate degree from Presentation College in Aberdeen.
She has fought a long hard battle with Lupas which led her to be on dialysis. Cylinda was a Sundancer and continues to live the Lakota way with many prayers.
Cylinda is survived by two children: Tyson Bear Eagle and Echo Whirlwind Soldier; grandchildren she loved so much: Lydia, Sunni, Erin, Katelyn, and Joenna (She will be missed so much); one sister, Lena Bear Eagle; grandmother, Dorothy Ozuna; uncle, Dave West; aunts, Nancy West and Renee West; nieces and nephews; hunka sister, Skip Picotte who has been with her for so long. She has grown up and older with many hunka family: aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews, too numerous to mention.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Darlene; brothers, Joe and Brian Tiona, Robert and Matthew Bear Eagle Jr.; paternal grandparents, Noah and Lema Bear Eagle Step; grandmother, Eva Bear Eagle; and maternal grandparents, Edward LaBlanc and Juanita LaBlanc.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Cylinda’s arrangements.




I will miss you little sister…. Please give your mom and mine a kiss and a hug for me. I will see you all when my time comes.
