J'Lorah Dupris

J’Lorah Fredricka-Jean Dupris, stillborn baby daughter of Jre’Ven Dupris and Addison Baker of Eagle Butte, passed away August 22, 2025, at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital, Pierre. 

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. MDT, Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Eagle Butte. Burial will follow in <D> Cemetery, Iron Lightning.

 J’Lorah Fredricka-Jean was born on Friday August 22, 2025, at Avera Hospital in Pierre, SD. 

Our beautiful baby girl was born to Jre’Ven Dupris and Addison Baker of Eagle Butte. Her siblings who anxiously awaited her arrival are J’Lyah Vianna-Fredrika, Jayeten Owen-LeRoi, J’Reeme Wilmer-Fredrick and Jaaken Jayme-Grant, Aiden Baker, Beverly Baker, Aila Baker, Tobias Baker and Kinsley Baker. Maternal grandmother Memoree Dupris lovingly looked forward to spending long nights and early mornings with her gorgeous baby girl. Forever, she will be “Grammas Girl”. She was also lovingly welcomed by her grandmother Codi Dupris and great grandmother Gloria Fire Thunder. 

J’Lorah is survived by paternal grandmother Adelaide Baker and is a daughter of the Prairie Chicken clan of the Hidatsa Nation and the Mnicoujou/Itazipco Lakota of the Cheyenne River Sioux. Maternal great grandparents are Gloria Fire Thunder and Kenton Thompson. 

Baby girl is also survived by her loving aunties Tylaina, Justelle, RhyLyn, Dannika, Bree and Jaymen; uncles Brexton, Daunte, Ryder, Stockten, Saxxten, Donald, Adrian and Teeg. 

Welcoming Baby J’Lorah to her heavenly home are great grandpas, Wilmer Fred Dupris and Gary Bad Warrior Sr.; grandpas, Jayme Dupris and Michael Bad Warrior; great grandma, Rita Yellow Lodge; great-great grandparents: Leroy Sr. and Toni Meeter LaPlante, Wilmar and Cordelia Iron Lightning Dupris, Oscar Bad Warrior and Maethal Moran. 

Our precious little one arrived, she showed us love and light and she is now at home with the Lord. God knew her before she was born and now holds her in His arms eternally. J’Lorah spent only a moment in her mommy’s arms but is forever in the hearts of her mommy and daddy. She is deeply loved by her parents and all who were awaiting her arrival.
