He grew up in the Big Bend area of Central South Dakota and attended Crow Creek Tribal Schools, where he graduated from high school. Charles later earned his bachelor’s degree from Bismarck State College in Bismarck, North Dakota.
He met Jennifer Eagle, and together they were blessed with three children: Charles Howe Jr. (Chuck), Eli, and Charee.
At the time of his passing, Charles worked at Crow Creek Tribal Schools as a substitute teacher and as a paraprofessional in the elementary school, where he served for many years. He was affectionately known as “Papa Charles” to all.
Charles is greeted in Heaven by his parents, John and Cynthia Howe; brother, John Howe, Jr; and sisters: Ethel Left Hand Bull, and Leatrice Seaboy.
