Earl Fix, 75, of Faulkton, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital, Aberdeen.

In accordance with Earl’s wishes, no services will be held.

Earl Fix, a cherished husband, father and grandfather, passed away on June 13, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on June 23, 1950, in Hoven, South Dakota, Earl was the son of the late Frank and Rita (Waldman) Fix. His childhood, in Onaka, SD, was filled with hard work and dedication to the family farm.

On July 3, 1970, Earl married his lifelong companion, Sherry White, in Faulkton, South Dakota. Their union, lasting over 55 years, was a testament to devotion and love. Together they raised two wonderful children, Jason and Heidi.

Earl’s professional journey was marked by dedication and an unwavering work ethic. For 36 years, he traversed the country as an over-the-road trucker, a career he held with pride until his retirement in 2013. His work allowed him to explore the vastness of America, but his heart always remained rooted in the simple pleasures of home.

Outside of his professional life, Earl was a man of many passions. An avid fisherman, whether it was beneath the summer sun or amidst the chill of winter ice, he found immense joy in being at the Missouri River. He found endless joy in being outdoors, Earl’s garden was a masterpiece of nature, a testament to his meticulous care and unyielding determination to keep it free of weeds.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sherry Fix; children, Jason Fix (Sarah) and Heidi Ritchey; granddaughters: Jeannine Cook (Kelly), Brianna Paulson (Jakob) and Allison Siebrecht; great-grandchildren, Koe and Sloane Cook; his beloved cat, Mabel; and siblings Marlene, Shirley, and Jeff.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rita Fix; brothers, Eugene and Allen; and his son-in-law, Vernon Ritchey.

Earl’s legacy is one of strength, stubbornness and an unmatched work ethic. His life was a testament to the values he held dear: hard work, family, and a profound appreciation for the beauty of nature.

Earl’s memory will forever remain in our hearts, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the tranquility he so deeply cherished.
