Denise Weber

Denise (Brown) Weber, 68, of Rapid City, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Monument Health, Rapid City.

A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the Faulkton Cemetery with Pastor LeShea Avery presiding. A time of fellowship will follow at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Faulkton.

Denise L. Brown was born on June 28, 1958, in Columbus, GA. The eldest daughter of Harold and M. Louise (Wiltse) Brown. She grew up in Faulkton, SD where she graduated from Faulkton School district. While in school she was active in many extracurricular activities ranging from sports to choirs and other musical activities, as well as 4H.

After graduating from high school, Denise attended several colleges and universities including Nettleton Business College, Augustana College, Northern State University and Presentation College. Perusing certifications and degrees in Fashion Merchandising, Teaching, and dual degrees in Nursing and Social work. She received a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Presentation College

After graduating Denise worked for the Aberdeen School District at Central High School as a student social worker.

In addition to her career in student social work and especially during retirement, Denise was a lifelong lover of music. Both playing the piano and singing. She sang in local choirs as well as played music for as long as she could.

Denise was a life member of the Order of The Eastern Star, and Daughters of The Nile. In 2001 she was elected Queen of the Nile, for the Aurora Temple, of Aberdeen, SD. During this time, she attended the National Convention for Daughters of The Nile in Albuquerque, NM. Denise was an avid quilter; making many different dresses, tops, wall hangings, and quilts for her family and especially for her Grandson Charlie. She was also active in the local Lutheran Church where she participated in services, sang in the choir, and played music. Denise also enjoyed baking and cooking. She enjoyed camping and the many trips that were taken with family

She was preceded on death by her father, Harold A. Brown of Faulkton, SD, and beloved paternal and maternal grandparents.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Weber of Rapid City; her daughters, Caroline (Jordan) Balster of Aberdeen, Alexis Brown of Sioux Falls; grandson, Charlie Skinner of Sioux Falls; mother, M. Louise Brown of Faulkton; brothers, Alden (Carmen) Brown of Faulkton, Mason (Julie) Brown of Faulkton; sister, Clare (Eric) Johnson of Detroit Lakes, MN. She was also thankful for the many nieces and nephews, as well as the many friends she had throughout her life.

Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Denise’s arrangements.
