Agnes Kolda, 94, of Miller, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 18, 2021 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Miller, with Father Paul Josten, celebrant. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday. Burial will follow at St. Ann's Cemetery. Masks are encouraged.

Agnes was born the fourth of ten children to Joseph and Anna (Hardes) Lammers on August 5, 1926 on the home place Florence Township, Hand County. She attended school in Polo, SD.

She married Joe Kolda on February 20, 1946.  Joe and Agnes farmed and ranched in Fairview Township.  She lived in the Polo area for many years, where she raised her eight children.  Agnes and Joe moved to Miller in 1982.

After retiring in Miller, she was an avid walker, enjoyed crossword puzzles and having coffee with friends.  She loved her experiences traveling with friends and family to Germany, Mexico and many other trips around the United States.  Most of all, Ag cherished the time spent with her beloved family.  In her later years, seeing the young children always brightened her day and brought a smile to her face.

Agnes’ faith was an important part of her life.  She was a lifelong Catholic and a faithful member of St. Ann’s church, Catholic daughters, Altar Society and served on the funeral committee for many years.

Grateful to have shared her life are her children: Jim (Dwana) Kolda of Tea, Jerry (Dar) Kolda of Rapid City, Connie (David) Zemlicka of Miller, Jane (Eric) Juhl of Sioux Falls, Colette (Richard) Feldges of Evanston, IL, Joann (Matt) Schulte of Orient, and Susan (Mark) Fulton of Miller, 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; siblings: Betty Matthews, Ellie Sabers, and Ed Lammers; and many nieces and nephews.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Kolda; daughter, Kathy Kelpin; granddaughter, Joann Graham; and siblings: Paul Lammers, Cal Lammers, Lee Lammers, Mel Lammers, Mary McDermott, and Jane VanHove.
