Mogle, 88, of Miller, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the Good Samaritan
Society of Miller.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Miller with Pastor Fred Rosin officiating. Burial followed at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller. Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 24, 2013 with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service, all at Reck Funeral Home, Miller.
Albertha was born on October 6, 1924 in Pollack, South Dakota to Adam and Magdalena (Hochhalter) Ketterling. She grew up on a farm in Wishek, North Dakota and this is where she met and married Calvin Janke in 1946. In 1956, Albertha moved to Groton, SD where she began her career as a nurse’s aide with Good Samaritan Society. She moved to Miller, SD in 1962 to work in the newly built Prairie Good Samaritan Center. In 1969, she married Eugene Moos in Miller, SD and they lived on their farm north of Miller until moving to town in 1979. Eugene passed away in 1989. In 1994, Albertha married George Mogle of Flandreau, SD at Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller. They resided at the Courtyard Villa in Miller since 2008.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening and playing cards. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Grateful to have shared in her life is her husband, George Mogle of Miller; her son, Dennis Janke of Prior Lake, MN and daughter, Jan Janke-Hone of Sioux Falls; grandsons: Michael and David Janke; granddaughter, Jamie Gleason; brother, Rev. Eugene Ketterling of Waverly, IA and Berthold Ketterling of Sacramento, CA; twin sister, Ruth (Theo) Neuharth of Marion, SD; two step-children: Nancy (Mike) Barondeau of Roscoe and Dean Mogle of Cincinnati, OH; step-grandsons: Benjamin and Matthew Barondeau and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene Moos; infant brother, Elmer Ketterling; and infant daughter, Sharon Janke.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Albertha’s arrangements.
