Allen and DeVandolyn traveled extensively with members of Allen’s family during the first ten years of their marriage, living in Kansas, Texas, Tennessee, Arkansas and New Mexico to work on the construction of steel towers across the country. However, Highmore was always a home base and they returned to live there permanently in 1985, where Allen took on more responsibility for running and growing the Gibson farm located south of Highmore. Allen was known for his infinite energy and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone – stranger, friend, neighbor or loved one alike. He was a loving father, grandfather and uncle, attending events, games and meets almost without fail, and had a supportive voice that could always be heard over the crowd. His love was unconditional and always available.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Lucille (Westover) & Bryan; brothers: Carl Leroy, Merlin, Alvin and Gary; in-laws: Kathryn & Max Schamber; nieces: Cheryl Gibson and Susan Bennett: sisters-in-law: Noreen Gibson and Rosa Lee Gibson and nephew-in-law, Mike Riley.

Time is passing oh so quickly. Days and years fly quickly by.
Make the most of every moment, for thou very soon must die.

Worked with Allen at SDDC a very long time ago. He always played his guitar for the individuals and they loved it
Sincere sympathies to all the family. Thinking of you
Was sad to read this, cancer has taken so many good people from the community way too soon. I know you will all miss him very much; you are in my thoughts and in my prayers.
We want to know that we are praying for you for God to comfort you all. Allen was blessed with a wonderful family and you will all carry on his legacy. Jesus spoke to his disciples and said Peace be to you. With time it made sense to them. God bless you all.
So sorry for your loss. RIP Allen.
My Darling Brother, Allen, was called to Heaven to join the rest of my family. He was a quiet and loving brother and I loved him so much. He will be greatly missed. Heaven has another angel.
That is a very touching video and brought back many fond memories of Allen, Dee, Angel, Chester, and Alvin at the farm. Allen is a good man, husband, father, brother, and friend to many and will be missed. Allen loved his dogs and cats and would sit in the shop petting and talking to his four legged kids. Allen was taken away from us way too soon but the Lord had other plans. Allen you will always be with us in our hearts and fond memories.
Our thoughts and prayers to you Dee, Angel, and Chester
Dee and Family,
Sending prayers your way for comfort and healing. I always enjoyed a chat with Allen when I saw him. He was such a quiet and nice guy.
Beautiful tribute and service for Allen.
