Amanda Marie White Eagle (Begay) Winyan Wan Owangwaste Na Cante Wastelo (Beautiful Woman with a Good Heart), age 39, entered the Spirit World on June 28, 2025, at her home in Rapid City.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. MDT, Monday, July 14, 2025, at the Church of God, LaPlant. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. A wake service will be 6:30 p.m., Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the church, with a procession from the hill east of LaPlant at 5:00 p.m.

Amanda was born on June 1, 1986, to Mary Blue Arm and Vearl White Eagle, Sr. in Eagle, SD at IHS. Her grandparents are Estherlene and Carideo Low Dog and Pearl and Jake White Eagle. 

Amanda lived in Thunder Butte, Iron Lightning, Dupree, Green Grass, Eagle Butte and finally Rapid City, SD.  Amanda was very respectful, bright, loving, happy, funny and loved being with her cousins, siblings, and friends. She loved to fish, swim, go on trips, ride horses, and loved her cats. 

She attended Job Corps in Box Elder, SD where she completed her course and became a certified carpenter.  She achieved her GED and her high school diploma within three months.  When she returned to Eagle Butte, she was hired to work at the new hospital where she met Anthony Begay. From that, they had a beautiful baby girl named La'loni.  She then moved back to Rapid City with Anthony. A year later, they welcomed another beautiful baby girl named Leah.  Amanda started her job with housekeeping at a nursing home then moved on to work at Wal-Mart.  Amanda loved it when they took vacations every year with her family. She and Tony were married on August 18, 2023. 

Amanda is survived by her mother, Mary Blue Arm of Rapid City, SD; husband, Anthony Begay and daughters, La'loni and Leah Begay of Rapid City, SD; siblings: Guy (Tanya) Running Hawk of Gordon, NE, Michael Brave Heart of Sioux Falls, SD, Vearl (Tiffany) White Eagle, Jr. of Eagle Butte, SD, and Cecelia White Eagle of Rapid City, SD and her many nephews, nieces, one granddaughter, cousins, aunts, and uncles. 

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Estherlene and Carideo Low Dog, Pearl and Jake White Eagle; father, Vearl White Eagle, Sr.; uncles: Ramond White Eagle, Norman, Neal and Andrew Blue Arm; aunts, Dawn White Eagle and Norma Blue Arm. 

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Amanda’s arrangements.
