Angel Bear Eagle

Angel Bear Eagle, 24, of Eagle Butte, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Cheyenne River Health Center, Eagle Butte.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. MDT, Friday, October 8, 2021 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Eagle Butte. Burial will follow in the UCC Cemetery, Bridger, SD. A wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the church with a procession from the 4-mile at 4:00 p.m.

Angel Leigh Bear Eagle was born on June 3, 1997 in Pierre, SD to Bruce Bear Eagle Jr. and Mary Lou Rose Little Star. During her younger years she attended school at Tiospaye Topa School while she lived in White Horse. She also attended Dupree School while she lived in Dupree with her paternal grandmother, Cece Baumeister and family, who she loved very much.  While in Dupree, Angel, Jessica Rose and Emily Rae were known as the Gingerbread Girls because they were three Lakota girls who were always together, never apart. 

Angel met Darian Lee and had two sons: Adrian K. Lee and Hayden L. Lee.  In her spare time, she loved being a mother to her boys and hanging out with family and friends.

Angel is survived by one brother, Joseph (Bobbie) Little Star of Pierre, SD; her maternal grandmother, Marlene (Metcalf) Little Star; five uncles:  Howard (Carla) Little Star Jr. and Sid (Cassandra) Little Star all of Eagle Butte, Travis (Mary) Little Star of Dupree, Justin Bear Eagle of Eagle Butte, and Chip (Alisha) Baumeister of Alpine, CA; three aunts: Cheri (Isadore) Little Star of Eagle Butte, Lee (Elwood) High Elk of Dupree, and Lonna (John) Chavez of Albuquerque, NM.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Cecelia Baumeister; grandfather, Bruce Bear Eagle Sr.; father, Bruce Bear Eagle Jr.; mother, Mary Lou Little Star; and sister, Jessica Rose Bear Eagle.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Angel’s arrangements.
