Arlene Mae Allbee, 84, of Faulkton, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Faulkton Healthcare Center.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the United Church of Faulkton with Pastor Paul Smith. Burial followed in the Faulkton Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Luce Funeral Home in Faulkton.

Arlene was born January 29, 1926 to C.W. “Snap” and Ella (Nipp) Glanzman at Norbeck, South Dakota. She was raised near Norbeck and attended the Stevenson Country School and later Onaka High School. On March 21, 1944, she married Milton J. Allbee in Aberdeen, South Dakota. After their marriage, they made their home near Onaka where they farmed. In 1967, they moved to Faulkton where she and Milton started the Teen House and operated the Dairio and the bowling alley. Arlene later worked at the Shirk Home until her retirement.

Family and friends were very important to Arlene and she would spend as much time with them as she could. She was also very active in the Legion Auxiliary, the Rebekahs and the United Church of Faulkton. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing different card and board games.

Grateful to have shared in her life and will greatly be missed by her two daughters: Marcelline (Jerry) Schumacker of Oakes, ND and JoAnne Keldsen of Litchfield, MN; one son-in-law, Richard Nipp of Faulkton, SD; three sisters: Evelyn Massen of Alma, WI, Joyce Arnold of Faulkton, SD, and Elaine Thelen of Denver, CO; eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Darlene Nipp and two brothers.

Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Arlene's arrangements.
