Bev Oligmueller, 83, of St. Lawrence, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at her home, surrounded by family.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Miller, with Father Paul Josten, celebrant. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the funeral. Burial will be at St. Ann's Cemetery, Miller.
Beverly JoAnn was born January 24, 1940, in Miller to Russell and Mildred (Kerr) Hanks. She was the oldest of five children. She graduated from Miller High School in 1958. Following graduation, she went to beauty school, returning to open her own beauty shop. On November 24, 1962, she married Fred Oligmueller at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Miller. To this union, three children were born: Scott, Rick, and Julie. The family resided on their farm south of St. Lawrence. Bev was a lifelong Hand County resident.
Bev loved being a homemaker. She always made wonderful meals, especially during harvest for the crew. She was known for her famous homemade buns and for having a meticulous house; never letting anything dirty for too long. In her free time, she kept busy doing crossword puzzles and was an avid game show watcher. She loved her children but once she had grandchildren and great grandchildren, they became her favorites. She loved rocking them when they were little. She will be remembered for always telling them, “I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck”.
She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Altar Society, serving in St. Ursula’s band.
Bev will be missed by her husband, Fred of St. Lawrence; three children: Scott (Brenda) of St. Lawrence, Rick (Vicki) of Miller, and Julie (Brian) Haake of Lewiston, MN; seven granddaughters: Heather (Michael) Hammill, Jennifer Oligmueller (Tyler Dyer), Paige (Ross) Larson, Ashton Haake, Kylie (Taylor) Ryan, Ally Haake, and Rachel (Devin) Letsche; seven great grandchildren: Kynslee, Knox, and Kade Hammill; Brax, Brandt, and Brylee Larson; and Asher Ryan; siblings: Bobby Hanks (Betty Holcomb) and Barb (Gary) Bates; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Mildred Hanks, two infant siblings: Russell and Lynette Hanks; great grandson, Maverick Dyer; parents-in-law, Herman and Rose (Koeck) Oligmueller; and sister-in-law, Verna Hanks.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Bev's arrangements.
