Beverly Jean Stymiest was born February 26, 1937, in a small house on the edge of Miller to Mary (Wegner) and Lester Stymiest.  Her father was a hired worker, which resulted in many moves and several different schools for Bev.  Finally, her family settled in Miller and she graduated from Miller High School in 1955.

Beverly married her one true love, Lawrence Yost, on August 14, 1955. They moved to their farm in southern Hand County in 1956, where they lived and farmed.  Together they had three daughters: Susan Marie, Terri Lea, and Vicki Lynn. In 1985, they moved to Miller.

Fishing, family reunions, baking, crafts, and sewing projects were all a part of Bev’s story.  Her life was centered around her husband and her family.  She was a hard worker, beside Lawrence’s side through all that came their way, his helper always.  They were the picture of what a marriage should be, holding hands and quick peck kisses.  Anyone around them could tell they were in love to the end.

Beverly is survived by her three daughters: Susan (Dale) Hargens, Terri (John) Kump, and Vicki (Keith) VanDerWerff; grandchildren: Andrea (Bertin) Hargens-Flores, Janice (Tim) Gilbert, Jeremy (Ashley) Hargens, Kristin (Drew) Kolda, Charlie (Sabrina) Kump, Dixie (YungBen) Yelvington, Wade (Michelle) VanDerWerff, Rusty (Jill) VanDerWerff, and Ashley (Jonathan) Hurd; great-grandchildren: Laura, Justin, Xavier, Liliana, Sophia, Dawson, Shawn, Cain, Jackson, Gesina, Madalyn, Mikhail, Louise, Varick, Mira, Kaylee, Ava, Luke, Cassi, Tyson, Kellan, Chase, Isabelle, Quinn, and Elijah; brother, Clair Stymiest; sisters-in-law: Elaine Stymiest, Faye Stymiest, Shirley Stymiest, and Joyce Meyer; and her special pet, Toby.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence Yost; parents: Mary and Lester Stymiest; siblings: Virginia Huffman, Bud Stymiest, Jim Stymiest, Bob Stymiest, and Donna Jean Stymiest; and grandson, Justin Hargens.
