Bob Potter

Robert “Bob” Raymond Potter, 72, of Seneca, entered his heavenly home Friday, September 16, 2022, at his home surrounded by family and under hospice care following a brave two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Tolstoy Wesleyan Church, Tolstoy, with Pastor Matt Pribyl officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery, Seneca.
Bob was born July 12, 1950, in Faulkton, SD to Raymond and Mildred (Schraeder) Potter. He graduated from Faulkton High School in 1968 and went on to attend Northern State University for one year. His farming career began in 1971 in Seneca and continued through 1999. He moved to Seneca in 1973 and lived there until he passed. After farming, he worked road construction with Foothill Construction out of Webster until 2020. While living in Seneca, he belonged to the Seneca Fire Department and was a past mayor. Bob enjoyed fishing, baking, gardening and canning, and he was well known to share his produce with many neighbors and friends.
Bob is survived by sisters: Nancy (Clayton) Theobald of Brookings, SD, and Mary (Doug) Mushel of Crossville, TN; brother: Roger (Lori) Potter of Faulkton, SD; special friend: Vickie Gardner of Seneca; nieces and nephews: Kellee (Dan) Kriese of North Sioux City, SD, Shana (Jesse) Wagers of Harrisburg, SD, Jamie Leska of Lake Geneva, WI, Sara (Adam) Reich of Hudson, KY, and Amber Potter of Faulkton, SD; great nieces and nephews: Kyla and Kale Kriese, Keira, Cooper, Rylee and Reagan Wagers, Colt, Wesson, and Remington Reich.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

I remember being in wrestling and track with Bob in high school. He was always so encouraging to others and a very positive influence! He was a great asset to the community and will no doubt be missed by many.

Sorry to hear about Bob. I think he still holds the Faulkton record for the longest shot-put throw. We grew up 1/2 mile North of him.
