Watch Bob's Recorded Memorial Service
Bobby L. Hall, 85, of Tea and formerly of Seneca, SD, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Sanford Ava’s Hospice House, Sioux Falls. His loving family was by his side.
A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 1, 2023, at Luce Funeral Home, Gettysburg with Pastor Jeff Adel presiding. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Seneca with military honors.
Bobby L. Hall was born June 21, 1938, to Lloyd and Allyce (Blum) Hall. He lived his young life on a farm with his four siblings Hollis, Raylene (Geist), Sherry (Witte), and Lynn (Marks-Surdyk), along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends nearby.
Bobby met Mary G. “Sue” Woodward at the Faulkton VFW on New Year's Eve in 1969. They instantly knew this was meant to be and married six months later, June 20, 1970. Bobby’s love for the family farm allowed the couple to begin their lives together there and where they welcomed their two children Melissa (Riggs) and Wymond. Bobby was forever proud of his children, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Bobby had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and patient. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all his life experiences: schoolteacher, US Army radio-teletype operations, farmer and rancher, and customer service agent. Bobby always tried to help others.
He will be remembered for his kind heart and keen ear, which he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved and cared for each of them. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and love for his family and those who went before him. He will be missed dearly.
Bobby will be reunited in heaven with his parents Lloyd and Allyce and sisters Raylene and Lynn.
“The man is a success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much.” Robert Louis Stevenson
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Bobby’s arrangements.

Dear Sue, Missy and Wymond, I was sad to hear of Bob's death. I always enjoyed him, and all of you, when I served as your Pastor. Bob was always so gracious, accepting, and fun to visit with. My prayers are with you all. Blest be the saints who from their labors rest. Gods Blessings to you all. Pastor Gary Rae
So sad to hear about Bob. He was a very kind hearted person no doubt! I always knew that I was going to have a good visit when I seen him. You guys came to help pass time with me & Cash at Sanford Hospital and I will never forget that kindness❤️. I am praying for healing for your family.
I remember uncle Bob's love for horses, great story teller, excellent pinnacle player and just an all around great guy. Bob was always reaching out to have a conversation, but more importantly he would have words of wisdom to share when you needed it the most. Thank you for not only being an uncle but a friend. You will be missed.
Pat
Sue and family, our heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your dear husband, father and grandfather.
God Bless.
My brother, Bob was a remarkable little brother and later as an adult a most thoughtful and kind brother. He measured his wealth by the friends he had. He would rather lose an argument than jeopardize a friendship. He cherished and loved his wonderful family and kept in touch with us all, at least weekly. Bob, there are so many of us who miss you. Your brother, Hollis
