Brandon Lee Clement was born on October 21, 1987, in Miller, SD to his loving parents, Don and Jody (Eaton) Clement.  He was welcomed home by his big sister Erin, and in 1991 his sister Abby joined the family. He was baptized, received Holy Communion, and confirmed at the St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Orient, SD.  Brandon spent his life living in Orient, making friends, shaking hands, and giving out hugs.

Brandon attended the Faulkton Area School District from Kindergarten until his high school graduation in 2008.  During his time in school, he made numerous friends, and formed special bonds with several teachers.  In 3rd grade he was awarded first place in a writing contest for his book “Muffs Summer Trip”, he and his dad were aired on PBS reading his story.  While at school he worked at Faulkton Senior Living where he helped with laundry and brought smiles to the residents.  He also enjoyed washing football uniforms for Coach Geditz.  Brandon’s senior year of high school he was crowned Homecoming King and received the Betty Benning Scholarship.  School was a joy for him, and although there were challenges for him, he always worked hard and overcame so many obstacles.

Upon graduation, Brandon continued living with his parents and sister Abby.  He held a job at the Faulkton Area Medical Center until his health prevented him from continuing his work there.  He then worked at the Orient Cenex station for many years.  He loved his coworkers and regulars that came through.

Brandon enjoyed simple pleasures in life.  His preferred method of transportation was his beloved golf cart, he loved driving around town and giving rides.  He was a gamer, when it came to video games, he would purchase the newest release and play for hours to conquer it.  His nephews enjoyed going to his room and just watching him play because he was so talented.  He also loved making custom greeting cards for those special to him, we joked that he started making his Christmas cards in July. He put a great deal of time, heart, and thought into each one.  Brandon loved music, and if you knew Brandon you knew he loved Miley Cyrus.  Thanks to his brother-in-law, he even got to experience her in concert.  What was most important to Brandon in life was forming relationships with others, people who would take the time to sit and have a conversation with him.  Once you found a place in that huge heart, you stayed there, and left a special mark on his life.

Brandon was a lifetime member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Orient.  He was a member of the Orient Community Club, and President of the Miley Cyrus fan club 😊.  His love for his little community of Orient, SD was deep.  We often joked that he would run for mayor, he could greet all those that came to town.

Those here that will be missing B include his loving parents: Don and Jody Clement, Orient; sisters: Abby Clement and Erin (Kevin) Stark; nephews: Korbin, Karson, and Kashton; niece, Ensley; Godparents: Father Tom Clement and Nancy Gulbrandson; a large and extremely special extended family including aunts, uncles, and cousins who brought him great joy and happiness and special friends: Jess, Eleazar, Alina, Eliana, and Julian Flores.
