Bryce Claymore, 55, of Aberdeen, left this world on Friday, October 4, 2024.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. MDT, Monday, October 14, 2024, at All Saints Catholic Church, Eagle Butte. Burial will follow at Mossman Cemetery, Ridgeview. Visitation will be one-hour prior to the service at the church.

Bryce Alan Claymore was born on September 14, 1969, at the Eagle Butte Hospital to Grady Claymore and Donna Claymore, following close on the heels of his twin, Brad. He lived his early years on the ranch in Marksville and in Eagle Butte, SD. He moved with Grady and Robyn and his siblings to Aberdeen where he attended Roncalli High School and Aberdeen Central, graduating from Central. He loved sports, playing football and basketball in high school.

He continued his education, enrolling at Northern State University in the fall of 1994. Bryce graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1998. He spent much of his life in government service, working for the Indian Health Service and the U.S. Forest Service, among others. In his work life, he traversed the country from Washington, D.C. and West Virginia, through Minnesota, Montana, and Arizona to Sacramento, CA where he served as the CEO of an adolescent treatment center.

In Minnesota, Bryce met and married Laura Gustafson on May 31, 2009. They were overjoyed to be blessed by the birth of their son, Jack Allyn Claymore on August 22, 2010. Bryce loved Jack, his only child, with all of his heart and soul.

Throughout his adult life, Bryce was an AVID Raiders fan. Mo matter what city they played for- Oakland, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, whatever city- Bryce always cheered for the Silver and Black. Being a loving, caring, thoughtful and generous soul, Bryce treated the family to a Raiders game in January 2023. He also enjoyed playing slow-pitch softball and would travel miles for a great game of golf, especially with his cousins or uncles.

Bryce joins many family members in the spirit world, including his mother, Donna Rae Claymore; his nephew, Tyler Thom; niece, Kortnee Kristyn; Uncle JD Claymore; grandparents: Leonard and Syble Claymore and Chuck and Katie Hiett; and many other family members and friends. His sister, Rikki Rae, followed closely behind Bryce on this final journey.

Bryce leaves behind his beloved son, Jack; his parents, Grady and Robyn; twin brother, Brad Allen; younger brother, Jayde; nephews, Kellen and River; niece, Britnee; great nieces, Bria and Caylee; great nephews, Kyan and Benjamin; aunts, uncles, and many, many cousins, as well as lifelong friends from throughout his life. They will all miss Bryce greatly and join in mourning his passing.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Bryce’s arrangements.

A Funeral Mass was held on October 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church, 138 N Spruce St. in Eagle Butte, SD 57625

Brycie, you have always meant so much to me. You are a massive part of my life's story. When you laughed, it was magical. When you smiled, it warmed my heart. When you loved, you were a force of nature. Those are the memories I choose to hold close. I'm glad we got to see each other a few years ago and laugh. It meant a lot to me.
Ana (or as Grady used to call me: "Flash")

  7. Grady & Robyn, I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Bryce and Rikki. Bryce (Ice) was a good friend and always a cool guy. We played BB together back in the Roncalli days and we were hanging out the night I first met my (future) wife. I remember doing backflips off the top of your front porch in high school (although that may have been with Brad). I will always have fond memories of your family and I pray Bryce and Rikki are at peace and together.
