Cecilia was born November 4, 1926 in Canada to Harry and Myrtle (Boyle) Marlatt. Her mother died when Cec was three. Her father married Francis Honeywell, who became her loving mother. Cec grew up and attended school in Plainwell, Michigan. Cecilia met Keith Miller while he was attending college in Michigan and they were later married on March 31, 1948 in Ivanhoe, Minnesota. To this union, five children were born.
After marriage, Cec and Keith moved to Miller, South Dakota where they made their home and life together. Cec and Keith owned and operated an ice cream drive-in, Dari-O; retiring in 1994. She also worked at the Fabric Inn and Tucker’s SuperValu.
Community involvement was important to Cec. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Miller, loved playing bridge, delivered meals on wheels, golfing at the country club, sewing, quilting, fishing, gardening, and working in her yard. She devoted much of her time in retirement being with her grandchildren, dedicating her heart and soul to them.
Her memory will be cherished by her three children, Linda (Mike) Manning of St. Lawrence, Robert (Terrie) Miller of Miller, and Paul Miller of Miller; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Ethel (Al) Folk of Michigan; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith in 2006; son, Glenn; infant son, Brad Allen; one sister, Maymie; and four brothers: George, Howard, Clarence, and Harry Jr.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Cec’s funeral arrangements.

How saddened we are to learn of Cec’s death. I have so many good memories of Cec in her younger days—sewing classes, playing bridge, drinking coffee together—May Gods love and grace along with your good memories ease your loss. Sincerely, Harlan and Kathy Meier
Linda, I’m so sorry to hear of your mothers passing, Ceic was my first employer, and thought she was the best!My heart hurts for you and yours! Peace be with you all.
Cec will always have a special place.in our hearts. She brought such enlightening with her smile, her personality and fun spirit. We talked often about her color streak she put in her hair when she got it done. Told her it was her statement. She was a true gem and rainbow. Many times we do not stop and appreciate those that bring such joy to our lives. She was that lady.🌈💖🙏🕊
Grandma Miller was a very kind soul. She was full of stories, full of life.
She loved her grandkids and her great grandkids more than life it self.
I will cherish all the memories and mostly the stories.
She may have been a small woman, but her heart was huge.
We will all miss her deeply.
Till we meet again.
We Love and miss you!
Laura
I am very saddened by the news of my Aunt C. She became an essential part of my dad’s emotional recovery after the death of my mom. Her selflessness to be there for her brother will never be forgotten. She was a small part of our lives due to her distance from our family. When she came to my dads rescue I got to know her well and I developed a great love for her. To all my cousins, you have my deepest sympathy. Being recently orphaned myself, I know the hole that’s left behind when both parents are gone. You are all in my prayers. I have been reflecting often on my memories ofAunt Cec since I heard the news. She will be sadly missed.
Your mother was a wonderful person. She treated me as if she was my mother. She was my first “boss”, hiring me to work at the Dario and helped me earn a purple ribbon in sewing. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Jeanne Dailey
