Christian Vonn Uses The Knife was born May 7, 1985, to Raymond Uses The Knife Jr. and Billie Garreaux, in Eagle Butte, SD. She was raised on the Uses The Knife Ranch seven miles north of Thunder Butte.
Christian attended Cheyenne Eagle Butte School, graduating in 2003. While in school Chris made many lifelong friends and treasured many unforgettable memories. Christian was involved in volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, and choir. At the age of 16, Christian had the opportunity to travel to Liverpool England with the Meyers Park Methodist Church of Charlotte, North Carolina, an experience and memory she cherished.
In 2009, Christian attended the United Tribes Technical College. Although she didn't complete her degree, she gained knowledge and experience. Later she went on to become a Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA).
On March 21, 2005, she was blessed with her daughter, Dusti Rose Traversie. Then on December 1, 2008, Christian’s second blessing, Sheridan Wynn Miner, was born. Her daughters were the highlight of her life and the best parts of her. She loved them dearly.
When Sheridan was born, she spent a lot of time with her second family, The Ducheneaux's (Darren and Dee Anne) attending horse races. She had many great memories of Aspen and Seth and Darren and Dee Anne. She loved this family dearly.
Christian held numerous jobs, some being a receptionist at the Cheyenne River Housing Authority, CEB Upper Elementary Time Out Teacher, night manager at the Family Dollar and Medicine Wheel Village, to name a few.
Christian enjoyed doing crafts such as diamond art, which was her favorite. She also loved spending time with her nieces and nephews where she received the name "Annie Chris" and "Hanty Chris". Christian also loved hanging out with her cousins and family.
Recently she loved telling her "Dad Jokes". She loved Austin Powers and her Faja (RUTK) heard a lot of comments from that movie. Christian was loved and will be missed by many. Her bright energetic smile lit the room. She was known for her love and compassion for everyone, but her warm comforting hugs will be missed the most.
In her time of illness, she could always find comfort in Nurse Sam and Dr. Henslin, who encouraged her.
Christian is survived by her parents: Raymond Uses The Knife Jr. and Billie Rose Garreaux; brothers: Kellon, Sheldon, and Yamni; sisters; Gail, Brittany, Shannon (Cody), and Shelby (John); her daughters: Dusti Rose Traversie and Sheridan Miner; nieces and nephews: Taylor Uses The Knife, Darius Uses The Knife, Charly, Mason, Easton Etzkorn, John Thomas, Jacob Vrooman, Alexa and Isabella Anderson, Miley and Kayde White Bear, Betti Jai I Lawrence, Lexi Uses The Knife, John Jr., Owen, and Sidney McLane.
Christian was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, William and Eva (Bordeaux) Garreaux; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Ethel (Butcher) Uses The Knife; aunts: Shelly (Garreaux) Thompson and Bernadette "Tweety" Uses The Knife; cousin, Karlee Fast Wolf; along with a very special nephew, Alex Kade Anderson; and numerous relatives awaiting her arrival in heaven.
Christian was known as a giving person and even in death her giving continues from her donations of skin, heart valves, blood vessels, and bone. She will touch the lives of many.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Christian’s arrangements.

1 Corinthians 15:51-57
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, [1] where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord .
Prayers for all of your family and ww can be comforted knowing we will meet again in heaven. God bless and love you all
