Daniel Bau, 56, of Faulkton, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the United Methodist Church, Redfield with Pastor Stephen Perry officiating. Burial followed at  Mount Hope Cemetery, Frankfort.  Visitation with family present was held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Luce Funeral Home, Faulkton.

Dan was born June 18, 1955 to Lorraine (Herren) and Wesley Bau in Huron, South Dakota.  He went to school in Doland and lived around the Frankfort area.  On September 20, 1974, he married Irene Fisk.  They lived at the Lewis Double E Ranch where Dan worked until 1976.  He then went to work for Land O’ Lakes for 18 years.  They eventually moved to a farm SW of Faulkton where he served on the Township Board.

He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters, playing cards with his family and friends and hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Bau of Faulkton; daughter, Darlette Bau of Watertown; son, Steven Bau of Faulkton; his three granddaughters: Cassandra, Natalie and Bridgette; one brother, Allen Bau of Frankfort; and three sisters: Rita (Terry) Kissner of Redfield, Barb Bau of Rapid City and Cheryl (Jim) Wilde of Scarville, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; a niece and nephew.

Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Dan’s arrangements.
