Dawn Marie Faust was born March 30, 1961, at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron, South Dakota, to Wilfred and Marjorie Marie (Cotton) Faust. She grew up on a farm south of Polo before moving with her family west of Orient. In March 1967, the family relocated to Miller, where Dawn attended grade school, middle school, and high school, graduating in May 1979.
Following high school, Dawn worked at Lipps Dining Center for Virgil Lipps. On April 24, 1981, she married the love of her life, Craig Price, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Together, they made their home in Miller and were blessed with three sons: Gary, David, and Ryan. Dawn was a devoted member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and Altar Society.
Over the years, Dawn worked at several places, including Coss Insurance Agency for Bernard Coss and later in the kitchen at Prairie Good Samaritan Society. After a period as a stay-at-home mom, she resumed work at the Super 8 Motel, eventually starting her own house cleaning business. Later, she joined the team at the Conoco Convenience Store, where she worked for 24 years, first under Gary Niederauer, then Harms Oil, and finally Lorelei Simons. She concluded her working years at the Rustler Roost After School Program before retiring.
In retirement, Dawn and Craig enjoyed traveling to Minnesota to visit their son David and grandchildren. They became avid 4-wheeling enthusiasts, frequently exploring the trails of the Black Hills with family, often riding up to 100 miles in a single day.
Dawn’s greatest joy came from her family. She cherished time with her grandchildren: Ridley, Pyper, Hayven, and Meryck, along with step-grandchildren Landon and Liam Lewer.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of 44 years, Craig; sons: Gary Price, David (Jennika) Price, and Ryan Price; grandchildren: Ridley, Pyper, Hayven, and Meryck; and step-grandchildren Landon and Liam Lewer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred and Marjorie Faust; her sister, Mary K. Teller; and two great-nephews.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Dawn’s arrangements.
