Delmas was born in Miller, SD, on December 15, 1947, to Floyd and Mary (Mason) Meek. He grew up with a strong sense of duty and compassion. He was the very definition of a “hardworking man.” Devoted to his family and friends, Delmas was someone you could always count on.

Delmas served in the Navy as a young man, returning home to the family farm following his military service. He worked on the family farm his entire life. He retired and moved to sunny Arizona to enjoy the fruits of his labor.

He had a special love for horses and a great BBQ. Delmas was a Cowboy to his core. He enjoyed riding his Harley and telling stories. Cats may have nine lives, but Delmas had 19. His determination and tenacity in life were unmistakable. He loved a good party and was always the first to open his home to family and friends. You could be certain he would have a cold drink ready and steaks marinating.

Known for his vibrant personality and unwavering integrity, Delmas leaves behind a legacy that will continue in the children he helped raise and his many friends/family. He was a beloved friend, surrogate father, and member of the community,

He is survived by his life partner, Hannah Sprague; surrogate children, Peyton Sprague and Logan Sprague; sister, Jane (Bill) Dunbar; nieces and nephews; and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mary Meek; sister, Peggy Meek-Sell; and brother, Charles.

Many extended family members and countless friends will miss him dearly.

Luze Funeral Home of Highmore has been entrusted with Delmas' arrangements.
