Doris Mae Phillips was born on March 31, 1923, to Claude and Bertha (Marshall) Phillips, the fifth of sixteen children. She received her elementary education in a rural school located one mile from her home. Doris graduated from St. Lawrence High School in 1941.
On June 15, 1941, Doris married her high school sweetheart, Glenn E. Aymar, at the St. Lawrence parsonage. They lived on the family farm in Greenleaf Township in Hand County, until the death of Glenn on April 5, 1970. To this union, one son, Duane Lee was born. I will miss Doris’s sharp wit. Take comfort in knowing that she is no longer limited by her earthly body. Even tho this was kind of sudden, I’m sure if given a choice she would have choosen to have it end this way.
Something I have seen before that I think fits:
A golden heart stopped beating, two busy hands to rest, God broke our hearts to prove he only takes the best.
May God be with you in the days ahead.
Thoughts and prayers for you all in this sad time. Doris was a wonderful person who I have in a lot of my memories as I grew up.
