Edward Schreiber, 74, of rural Agar, passed away, Monday, January 15, 2007 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Funeral services were held at 2:00p.m., Saturday, January 20 at the United Methodist Church, Agar with Rev. Susan O’Connell presiding. Burial was in the Onida Cemetery, directed by Luce Funeral Home, Gettysburg. A prayer service was held at 7:00p.m., Friday with visitation one hour prior at the church in Agar.

Edward John Schreiber was born September 26, 1932 at Agar, SD to Arnold Frederick and Bessie (Torbert) Schreiber. He attended school at Agar.

During Edward’s healthier years he was a very hard worker. He spent a great deal of time helping his father and brothers with the farm work, driving tractors and working the fields.

Watching sports was one of his favorite pastimes. There was never a time when Edward missed watching his brothers, nieces or nephews play basketball. He also enjoyed spending time with his family including all of the pets, hunting and fishing with his father, brothers and nephews and taking pictures of flowers and wildlife. Edward had a great sense of humor. If he had the chance, he would make sure to take the time to tease anyone around him.

He will always be remembered for his wonderful memory, his curiosity in making sure he would get to know everyone, his bright smile, his hand that welcomed you when he saw you and the joy you saw in his eyes when you spoke to him.

Left to cherish Edwards’s life are his brothers: Walter of rural Agar and Robert (Mary) Rush of Foley, AL; twin sisters: Jean (Mike) Willis of Denver, CO and Joan (John “Tug”) Bush of rural Onida; sister-in-law: Lola Schreiber of Agar; special friend and caregiver, Linda Todd of rural Agar and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Marion.
