Eileen Worth, 80, of Aberdeen, formerly of Gettysburg passed away, Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital in Aberdeen.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Gettysburg with Pastor Don Watt and Pastor Tom Haggar officiating. Burial followed in the Gettysburg Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Luce Funeral Home, Gettysburg with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service.
Eileen Ruth Boke was born November 26, 1930 at the home place in Potter County, South Dakota to Hans William “Bill” and Ruth Evelyn (Oaks) Boke. She attended and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1948. She went on to future her education and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Northern State College in 1978.
Eileen taught school in 1948 and 1949 until her marriage on June 5, 1949 to J. Quentin Worth. They were married at the Congregational Church in Lebanon and made their home in Gettysburg. For the next 15 years Eileen was a homemaker and a mother. From 1964 through 1995 she returned to teaching where she taught K-8 grades, all in Potter County.
Some of her favorite things to fill her time with were making quilts, wood burning, cross stitching, crocheting, reading and working with photography. Eileen also always had an eye for angels, birds, teapots and pretty dishes. She attended the Gettysburg United Methodist Church and the First United Methodist Church in Aberdeen where she served as a Sunday and Bible School Teacher, UMW President and Treasurer, Resource Secretary and served on the Pastor’s Parish Relations Committee. She also was a member of the Home workers Social Club.
Eileen left with the hope that her family will remember that she was proud and loved each and every one of them.
Eileen’s life is left to be cherished by her two daughters: Marcia (Lester) Urban of Watertown and Roxie (Brad) Olson of Aberdeen; daughter-in-law: Nancy Worth of Clark; her six grandchildren: Cory (Jill) Worth, Brent Urban and Fiancée Michelle and her children, Brady and Brianna; Emily (William) Cordell, Gina (Bradley) Enstad, Jonathan (Megan) Olson and Erin Olson; six great grandchildren: Caitlin and Jeffrey Worth, Hunter and Mason Cordell, and Mackenzie and Madison Enstad: her brother: Howard (Gail) Boke of Gettysburg; brother-in-law: Dean (Dottie) Worth of Gettysburg; sister-in-law: Dorothy J Worth of Gettysburg and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband: J. Quentin Worth on December 18, 2010; her parents; one son, Rickey Worth and one grandson: Jeffrey Worth and one brother: Eugene Boke.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Eileen's arrangements.

Sorry to hear and read about Eileen’s passing. She was a wonderful warm loving person who really cared. God bless her memory and sympathies to her family.
Eileen was one of my first teachers at Lincoln-Lucas school.
I would have to say that she was the best teacher that I had during my school years I will miss seeing her.

Sorry to hear about Eileen’s passing. I know what it is to lose a parent. My father passed away the day after Eileen. I taught in the country schools during some of the same years Eileen did. She was a great teacher. Doug and I look across the street and remember when she planted some of the trees. We were neighbors until they moved to Aberdeen. I enjoyed knowing both your mother and father.
