Everett Alvin Myers, 83, of Faulkton, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2007 at the Faulk County Memorial Hospital in Faulkton.
Memorial services were 2:00p.m. Saturday, January 13, at the United Church of Faulkton with Reverend George Dummann officiating. Burial was held at a later date. Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton is handling arrangements.
Everett Alvin Myers, was born April 19, 1923 to Grover and Emma (Phillips) Myers, in Faulkton, South Dakota. Everett worked on the farm and attended a trade school in Fargo, North Dakota, with Hansen Auto, Diesel and Welding, before entering the service. He enlisted in the US Navy in December of 1942 and served in WWII until he was discharged in February of 1946 when he returned home to farm near Faulkton. On June 2, of that same year, he married Gladys Zuber. They farmed three miles south of Burkmere, where they raised four daughters. Everett and Gladys farmed until 1980 when they made the move to Faulkton. Everett served as a County Commissioner for 12 years. He enjoyed going to auction sales, gardening and raising fruit trees.
He is survived by his wife: Gladys of Faulkton; four daughters: Wanda (Paul) Jundt of Eureka, Gloria (Ron) Sievert of Jasper, MN, Nancy (Kevin) Koester of Faulkton and Peggy (Dennis) Miller of Frankfort; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
His parents preceded him in death.
