Falon Fanny Bear Stops, 39, a CRST Member, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022 in Denver, CO.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., MDT, Saturday, August 27, 2022, at the Red Scaffold Gym, Red Scaffold. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Red Scaffold.
Falon Fanny Bear Stops was born February 25, 1983 in Eagle Butte, SD. She grew up in Bridger, Cherry Creek, and Red Scaffold, where she resided until she moved to Denver, CO in 2012. Falon attended Cherry Creek Head Start and then went to school at Takini, graduating in 2001. While Falon was in school she always kept good grades and was involved in sports and extra-curricular activities. She enjoyed playing volleyball and basketball and joined the cheerleading team. When Falon played basketball at the Dakota Oyate Challenge (DOC) tournament in Huron, SD she won a jersey for making the most 3’s at the tournament. The jersey had “Ms. Most 3 Pointers” and she also received a star quilt. During her senior year she attended Close-Up in Washington, DC, where she made a lot of friends and got to visit the White House. Falon was the valedictorian for her graduating class.
During Falon’s free time, she enjoyed putting on makeup, beading, making her daughters jingle dress and fancy shawl outfits, listening to music, taking pictures, visiting, and going for walks and drives. She also played in volleyball and softball tournaments with her friends, they traveled anywhere they could to play. Falon was known for being a happy person and she had a beautiful smile that could light up any room. She loved to joke around, laugh, and tease people. She loved her family and kids so much and was known for being a good mom.
Falon will be missed by her parents: James and Connie Bear Stops; her children: LaTia (Alijah) Zephier, Tyree, Lashae, Tylor, and Kadyn Bear Stops all of Red Scaffold, SD, Malaya, James, and Jayden Renault of Denver, CO, and Aria June Bear Stops of Denver, CO; grandchildren: Quias and Quinlee Bear Stops and Iyohi K’te and Aliyana Zephier; sister, Krista Bear Stops; brothers: Teno (Rose) Bear Stops and Taun (Dayne) Bear Stops; cousins she thought of as sisters and brothers: Lena, Laree, Troy, Herbert, and Justin Sitting Crow, Jennifer Chasing Hawk, and Delena Thornton; aunties: Gloria (Vernell) Sitting Crow, Delores Duran, Martha Hernandez, and Alvina Circle Bear; uncles: Oris Bear Stops and Herbert and Cleo Hale; and many nieces and nephews.
Greeting her in the spirit world are her grandparents: Romanus Bear Stops, Catherine Circle Bear, Robert Hale, Isabel Ward, and Mary Jane Good Shield; adopted father, Darwin Cook, and her sister, CherRon Sitting Crow.

I’m always sorry to hear a young child of God has passed on. She looks like a wonderful Lady, and I’m sure she enjoys a happiness in Heaven that we all have an opportunity to earn by serving our Creator as best as we possibly can. May God be of comfort to those who love her and are left behind for now. May our Divine Savior keep you all in His care, His comfort, and in His Mercy.
