Genevieve Reinhardt, 88, of Miller, passed away, Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Avera Hand County Hospital in Miller.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Miller with Rev. Bob Ohnstad officiating. Burial followed in G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Genevieve Virginia Hopp was born June 7, 1923 in Wadena, MN to Michael and Josephine (Lawrence) Hopp. She was raised in Wadena, MN where she attended school through the 8th grade.

In 1942 Genevieve moved to Hastings, MN. Here she met her husband, Floyd. They were married September 22, 1945. Floyd and Genevieve made their home in Hastings. Together they owned and operated Hastings Cab Company for 27 years. In 1973 they relocated to their farm in Hand County working side by side until retiring to Miller in 1987.

Genevieve was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller.

Those left to cherish her life include her husband, Floyd of Miller; five of her six children: Janice (Andrew) Kalin of Hastings, MN, Larry of Miller, Douglas (Kay) of Prescott, WI, Jeffrey (Naomi) of Wessington, and Lori (Terry) Danburg of Wessington; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Colleen Reinhardt of Hastings, MN; four sisters and one brother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Lance Reinhardt; four sisters and four brothers.

Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Genevieve’s arrangements.

  2. Sorry Mom is not doing well enough to bring her to the funeral. She sure will miss Jenny as we will as well. Loved to play cards with her when they came to see Mom.   3. I was sorry to read today about the loss of Genevieve, what a great lady! Lori, I remember so well while working with you at Ben Franklin, the snow would be several inches high, but your Mom would manage to bring in some of her wonderful ham and bean soup still piping hot. Although I did get her recipe, it never did taste as good as hers. My sympathy goes out to you Lori and your whole family. God Bless.
