After a full life, Hazel F. Bouren, 102, of Highmore, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023, at Highmore Health.  

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 23, 2023, at Luze Funeral Home, Highmore. Burial will follow at Morningside Cemetery, Ree Heights. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  

Hazel Florine Pedersen was born November 25, 1920, to Anton and Ellen (Nielsen) Pedersen in Arlington, South Dakota.  

She married Alfred Bouren, on December 4, 1937, in Miller, South Dakota. To this union, one son, Eldon, and one daughter, Sharon, were born. 

Throughout her life, Hazel had many hobbies and interests, but her greatest enjoyment was caring for her family. 

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon (Bob) Scott; granddaughters: Sandi (Bob) Hall, Vicki (Rick) Oligmueller, Tessa Reister, and Nicolle (Chris) Stallkamp; great grandchildren: Clayton, Cody and Colton Hall, Jennifer Oligmueller and Kylie Oligmueller Ryan, Valerie Hudson, Sierra, Madison, Evan, and Brendan Reister; and David and Chelsea Stallkamp; seven great great grandchildren; sisters: Joyce Peters and Bev Ross; and a host of nieces and nephews.  

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; son, Eldon; grandson, Shannon Scott; great great grandson, Maverick Dyer; siblings: Leona Davis, Viola Knutson, Irene Pederson, Maxine Linneman, Vernon Pedersen, and Donald Giles; and parents.  

Luze Funeral Home of Highmore has been entrusted with Hazel’s arrangements. 

A Visitation was held on June 23, 2023 at 9:00 AM at Luze Funeral Home, 306 S. Iowa St. in Highmore, SD 57345

  8. Sorry to hear of Hazel's passing. She was my Grandma's roommate for a time and I always enjoyed chatting with her when we visited Grandma. She always knew my kids when we saw her. Prayers for her family.
