Helen Davis, 86, of Faulkton, passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at the Faulkton Senior Living, Faulkton, SD.  

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the United Church of Faulkton with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service.

A private funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 at the church with Pastor Tom Sumers presiding Burial will follow in the Faulkton Cemetery.

Helen Elnora Zulk was born February 7, 1934 in the Canova, SD Hospital to Herman and Elsie (Koepsell) Zulk. She attended Union Center #9 School through the 8^th grade and Canova High School, graduating in 1952.

On May 1, 1982 she was united in marriage to Marlin Davis. They made their home in Salem prior to moving to Faulkton in 1984.

Helen always had a strong work ethic. She gave many years as a CNA at the Good Samaritan Home in Howard. Later she was employed at the Home Café in Salem, SD, becoming a manager in 1981. In 1984, Marlin and Helen bought a motel in Faulkton on the west side of Faulkton. She later went to work for the nursing home, working many years as a CNA.

Helen loved reading her books, Danielle Steele being her favorite author. She also enjoyed doing word searches with Marlin. She loved her kids, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Marlin, Faulkton; children: Jody Sautner, Rapid City and Donna Freidrichs, Watertown; stepchildren: Hillary (Bob) Oyen, Montrose, Gary Davis, Sioux Falls, Lori Roper, Yankton, and Jamie Davis, Lincoln, NE; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; brother in infancy, Leonard; sister, Merelda Dryer in March 2020; and brother, Elmer Zulk in April 2020.

Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Helen’s arrangements.
