Jennifer Chasing Hawk

Jennifer Chasing Hawk, 51, of Denver CO, formerly of Red Scaffold, entered the spirit world, Saturday, March 29, 2025, in Monument Health, Rapid City.  

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. MDT, Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Red Scaffold Gym, Red Scaffold. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Red Scaffold. Wake services will be 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 11, 2025, at the gym, with a procession from hill west of town at 4:00 p.m. 

Jennifer B. Chasing Hawk was born March 27, 1974, in Eagle Butte, SD joining her loving mother, Gloria (Bear Stops) Sitting Crow, stepfather, Vernell Sitting Crow, and father, Evan Chasing Hawk. She was the eldest of her siblings, Herbert, Troy, Lena, LaRee, CherRon, and Justin Sitting Crow as well as adopted brother, Dawson White Magpie. Jennifer attended school in Red Scaffold, Takini, and Flandreau Indian School. She moved to Denver, CO and worked for Serve Pro for many years. She traveled to California, Texas, New Orleans, and Atlanta as a fire & water/cleanup & restoration technician and loved construction work. 

Jennifer was a proud mother of seven children and ten grandchildren. She loved spending quality time with her stepfather, Vernell Sitting Crow, her children and grandchildren. They will all miss her very much. 

Jennifer is survived by her stepfather, Vernell Sitting Crow; her children: Tiffany Jamie, Jenasey Andazola, SayVon Mesteth, and America Galleges; son-in-law, Andrew Brown; 10 grandchildren: Tru Brings White, Ensley Brown, Hezekiahs, Ezra, & Amiaz Anaya, Emiliano, Sampson, & Avery Mesteth, Romanus & RaVyn Sitting Crow (She was the first of her siblings to have five generations; siblings: Herbert, Troy, Lena, LaRee, and Justin Sitting Crow.

She was preceded in her journey to the star nation by her mother, Gloria Sitting Crow; father, Evan Chasing Hawk; grandfather, Romanus Bear Stops; grandmothers: Germaine Sitting Crow and Catherine Circle Bear; her children: Elaina Brings White, Lucia Jaimie and Suzannah Roblez; sister, CherRon Sitting Crow; adopted brother, Dawson White Magpie. 

Jennifer will be immensely missed by her family, friends, and relatives.
