Francis Jerome Yost (Tiny), 75, of McCook, Nebraska, died of natural causes, on April 15, 2011 at his home.


Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2011 at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery with Father Chester Murtha officiating.  All relatives and friends are welcome to attend.


Tiny was born in Miller, on October 3, 1935 to James and Mary Rose Yost, he attended Miller High School.  Jerry served in the military and met and married Judi Syring on July 6, 1965.


He lived in Miller and worked for the Good Samaritan Center and the Miller Independent School District until retiring to Colby, Kansas where he and wife Judi followed their dream of running a small motel. He enjoyed his woodworking, pheasant and deer hunting and visiting with family.


Survivors include his wife, Judi of McCook, Nebraska; son, Jade of Austin, Texas; daughter, Kecia of Trenton, Nebraska and son, Lirin of McCook, Nebraska; sisters: Joyce Schoenfelder of DeSmet, South Dakota and Kathleen Biever of Iroquois, South Dakota and brother, Jack Seeman of Wilmar, Minnesota.


He was preceded in death by his father, James Yost; mother, Mary Rose Yost; and brothers, James Yost, Milford and Robert Seeman.


We, as his family, thank all of those who remained close friends and everyone for their prayers.


Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Tiny’s arrangements.

  1. So sorry to hear of Tiny’s passing. He and Brian stopped and visited with Melvin last year over the 4th of July and then was out here hunting this fall. Our deepest sympathy go out to his family. There was only one “Tiny Yost” and he will be missed. May he rest in peace…

    Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you, especially as you gather to lay your Dad to rest. I want you to know that Uncle Tiny and Aunt Judy were kind and gentle with my children as they were growing up in a way that truly touched my heart. My family will miss Uncle Tiny but will remember him with love.

  7. Well what can I say about my uncle Tiny. First yes we will have our family hunt. We will talk about you. This $th of July
    I will run the 5K and think about you on every step. When I run know I will talk to you offen.
    You can not talk back!! When I go fishing you will be with me.
    You always said you would pray for me . I don’t want you to stop.

    Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your father. I have so many memories of Uncle Tiny and will cherish them all. Our family pheasant hunts in Miller will not be the same without our Uncles there.

  11. I have so many good memories of great conversations with Tiny. I always enjoyed seeing him at family reunions. I especially remember seeing him at Brian and Donna’s wedding.
