Jina Anne Reyes-Woehler, 35, of Rapid City, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, August 29, 2025, in Lawrence, KS.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. MDT, Monday, September 8, 2025, at Woyatan Lutheran Church, 522 Anamosa St, Rapid City. Burial will follow in Pine Lawn Cemetery, Rapid City. An all-night wake will begin at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the church.
She was born on April 18, 1990, in Rapid City, South Dakota, and was the daughter of Ruperto Reyes, Jr. and Melissa Woehler. She attended school in Rapid City, South Dakota and Hiawatha, Kansas, and grew up surrounded by the love of her family.
Jina was known for her artistic abilities, often spending her spare time drawing. Her creativity was a defining feature of her character, and she aspired to become a tattoo artist. Jina enjoyed boxing in her youth and attended a few tournaments, and she was also an avid lover of martial arts and watching comedy’s. She truly embodied life and enjoyed being here in the moment, she wore her heart on her sleeve and befriended everyone.
She was a proud member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe.
She is survived by her daughter, Jayla Reyes-Massengill; son, Derek Massengill; mother, Melissa Woehler; father, Ruperto Reyes Jr.; sisters: Melinda (Reyes) Mitchell and husband Matthew Mitchell, Rochelle (Reyes) Moore and husband Carl Moore, Maria Woehler-McCrabb and husband Samuel McCrabb; brother: Carlos Reyes; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews.
Jina was preceded in death by her grandparents: Sharon Anne BlackBear and Donald Albert Woehler Sr.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Jina’s arrangements.
