Jorge Jose “Ozie” Hawk Sr. was born September 18, 1981, in Chicago, Illinois to Edwina C. Scares The Hawk and Angel L. Gomez Sr.
Ozie grew up in Chicago, Illinois until the age of 17 when he moved to South Dakota. Ozie loved to breakdance at battles or even on the block. He also started drawing graffiti as a teenager. He left his trademark all over Chicago with his name Ynot, Ears are menace. He left it on buildings, trains and anywhere he could spray paint. His crew’s name was CGT.
Ozie was the type of person that knew something was bothering you as soon as you started to talk to him, he knew you needed him. His sense of humor and personality were unique and one of a kind, he never wanted anyone around him to be sad or cry. If he saw you crying in front of him, he would start saying something that would make you laugh. He was for sure a jokester, always cracking jokes with you or about you. But no matter what, you never left his shop or house without your stomach hurting from laughing so much. That’s what made him special.
Ozie had nicknames for everyone around him, especially his children, nieces, and nephews, that they will cherish forever, no one could ever top that.
He could never be mad or argue with anyone around him, because of who he was. He loved everyone around him that came into his life. Ozie always spoke from his heart, and he said what he felt. He was the most real person around. He gave the biggest hugs; it was like he was our own big teddy bear. When he walked in any house or room, he brightened it up with just his smile.
If you knew Ozie, you knew he was his children’s, nieces’ and nephews’ #1 supporter, and also Tiospaye Topa’s #1 fan. He would travel to almost every game possible. He made sure you knew he was in the building cheering the team on because he was the loudest in the stands.
Ozie met the love of his life, Kelsie Hawk, in 2011, and they married in 2018. Ozie loved his wife; she was the star of his life.
Ozie leaves behind his memories and his wise words, including the words he would frequently say, “Trust the Process”.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kelsie Hawk; children: Jorge Hawk Jr., Carmelo Hawk, Shawnda White Eagle, Eli Trudell Keearah Hawk, Angel Hawk, Juanito Hawk, Khole Hawk, JaRose Hawk, Alani Hawk, Briley Jo, Isabella Black Bird; step-father, Orlando Morales (Swiftbird); aunt, Lynn (Victor) Hawk; siblings: Angel (Alejandra) Gomez, Natasha (Glen) Trudell, and Emmanuel Gomez; nieces and nephews: Fabian, Antonio, Anjolicque, Shane, Julian, Jaheida, Scarlet, Jay’den, Julius, and Baby O; and grandson, Alden Trudell.
Ozie is laid to rest next to his mother, Edwina; father, Angel; Titi Sweetpea, Tio Jr.; and grandparents: Roberto, Magreta, Joyce, and Edward.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Ozie’s arrangements.

I will always remember Ozie sitting next to me at the official's table at TTS running the shot clock and cheering his loudest for his kids and the rest of the team. I'm pretty sure I lost some of my hearing in my left ear but if was worth it every time! Think of the good times to carry you through the bad ones.
Heart and prayers go out to the family in this time of need love the whipple’s in NY
