KEITH'S TRIBUTE VIDEO

Keith Johnson, 73, of Gettysburg, passed away, Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.

Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 13, 2009 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gettysburg with Rev. Mark Moldenhauer officiating. Burial followed at the Gettysburg Cemetery. Visitation was held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 12, 2009 with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at Luce Funeral Home in Gettysburg.

Keith married Linda Kay Vincent at Pierre. At that time his was working for the Holiday Inn as a cook. He was transferred to Sioux Falls for one year and then returned to Pierre. Shortly after returning to Pierre he went back to work as a farm laborer. He worked for Al Steffen for five years and then the family moved back to Gettysburg. Over the following years he worked for several area farms. After his retirement he continued to work with Dr. Nold.

Keith loved spring. He was especially happy to see the calves being born and everything starting over. When not working, you could find him having coffee at the local café, on a dance floor somewhere or bowling. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, all types of sports and most of all teaching these to his family

Keith is survived by his wife Linda of Gettysburg. Those honored to call him dad are Dora (Bill) Moeller of Redfield, Doug (Phyllis) of Gettysburg, Karen of El Mirage, AZ and Kevin (Rebecca) of White Lake. Those grateful to have known him as grandpa are Nick, Billie, Tember, Dylan, Cole, Hazlin, Mark (Jenna), Christina, Sarah, and Heather. Those grateful to have known him as great grandpa are Damion, Destiny, Dakotah and Tristen. He is also survived by his brother Milton Johnson of Spearfish and sisters: Ruth Titze of Pierre and Kathy (Don) Joachim of Agar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister in law Frieda Johnson and brother in law Calvin Titze.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Keith's arrangements.

I have so many fond memories of being friends with Dora and staying out at your home almost more than I was at my own home for a period in my life. I will forever be grateful for the kindness extended to me and I will cherrish those fun memories.     sorry to hear of Keiths passing.
    I considered him a good friend and
    he was there for us when we lost Larry. Hold on to the memories of all the special times. He will be greatly missed in this community.

  8. Was just back to Lebanon 125th and saw a lot of people and had heard that Keith was in Aberdeen.

    All be gentle with yourself and take care at a time like this.

  9. Linda, So sorry to read about Keith’s passing, was just on the computer this morning looking up the Potter County paper. My heart goes out to you and all your family. He truly was a good person and I will remember him as always being happy with that perfect smile. God Bless you and keep you thru all the hard times and tears.
