Lauralee Lauritzen

Lauralee J. Lauritzen, 79, of Faulkton, passed away Monday, September 30, 2019 at Faulkton Senior Living.
Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the United Church of Faulkton, with Pastor Thomas Sumers presiding. Burial will be at a later date in the Faulkton Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Lauralee J. Christiansen was born January 27, 1940 in Faulkton, SD to Amile and Dora (Richardson) Christiansen. She attended Lower country school near Seneca until attending Faulkton High School, graduating in 1958.
On January 27, 1958 Lauralee was united in marriage to Rodger Lauritzen at the United Methodist Church in Seneca. They lived on the family farm near Seneca for a short time before moving to Sioux Falls. While living in Sioux Falls they started their family of five, and then they moved to San Diego, CA. Over the years, Lauralee worked various jobs, however she spent a majority of her time caring for her family. In 2000, Lauralee and Rodger returned to Faulkton to enjoy their retirement. They were able to purchase the home of her late grandparents.
While living in California, Lauralee was involved in Job’s Daughters. While in Faulkton, she was a member of the United Church of Faulkton and the Order of Eastern Star. Lauralee’s life revolved around her family, she enjoyed taking her kids camping, dancing, or just playing a hand of cards. She will be remembered as always welcoming and having a hug ready for everyone.
Those left to cherish her life is her husband: Rodger, Faulkton; her children: Leeann (Brian) Hardman, Vancouver, WA, Bill (Natsako) Lauritzen, Poway, CA, Roxann (Matt Howard) Johnson, Kansas City, MO, Rhonda (Tony) Belluso, Groton, SD, and Brenda (John) Kelley, Osage Beach, MO; 10 grandchildren: Brian Mark Jacobson, Erin Wallace, Hanna, May, and Luke Lauritzen, Tony (Emily), Chris (Monica), and JJ Johnson (Ashley Moran), Rodger (Tammy) Lauritzen, Kyle Belluso, and Andrew and Sean McPartland; 13 great grandchildren; sisters: Patty (Ron) Kadlec, Ipswich, Mary (John) Weiss, Overland Park, KS, and Amelia (Gary) Anderson, Paola, KS; step-brothers: Randy (Sherry) Carlson, Faulkton and Mike (Lori) Carlson, Rapid City; sisters-in-law, Janell Christiansen, Lennox and Louise Houghton, Faulkton; and her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Karen (Louie) Schraeder and Pam (Loren) Seidschlaw; and two brothers, Richard and Donald Christiansen.

So sorry to hear of Lauralee's passing. My mother, Frances, was very fond of her and we are thankful for all of the time and care that Lauralee gave to her over the years. She has now found comfort and peace and we hope that her family does as well.
My heart is broken at the loss of my wonderful Aunt Laurlee. My greatest sympathies and prayers for Rodger and the rest of the family. I have many many fond memories of growing up with you all, from a little kid! I love you!
