Lois L. Tobin, of Minneapolis, MN and formerly of Gettysburg, SD, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Bethesda Nursing Home, Aberdeen. 

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 18, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gettysburg with Fr. Brian Simon presiding. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Gettysburg.

Lois L. Tobin was born in Gettysburg, South Dakota to Thomas F. and Mable M. (Clute) Tobin.  Lois was a 32-year employee at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company working in Minneapolis, MN; Walla Walla, WA; and Rapid City, SD.  After retirement she worked for Ameriprise and American Express in Minneapolis. 

A member of VFW Auxiliary #5555, American Legion Auxiliary #435, CWA Retiree Union Group, Telephone Pioneers, S.A.T. (Singles All Together), and Church of the Annunciation.  Lois was a fantastic friend and enjoyed bowling, dancing, bingo, cards, shows, country and Irish tunes. She made many memories traveling the world with friends and family.

Survivors include her brothers: Thomas Tobin, Bruce (Connie) Tobin, and Perry (Cathy) Tobin all of Belle Fourche, SD; godchild, Kim Gorsline of Washougal, WA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mable Tobin; three sisters: Marie Crawford, Shirley Hinckley, and Genevieve Heffron; and two brothers, Verne and Dennis Tobin.

Memorials in Lois’ honor are directed to Avera Oahe Manor, Alzheimer's Unit, 700 E. Garfield Ave, Gettysburg, SD 57442.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Lois’ arrangements.

  1. I am going to miss the birthday and Christmas cards from you. You always kept in touch and told stories of your trips. You loved Branson Missouri. I don't know how you did those bus tours but you enjoyed it. You would always tell me about your time visiting my folks and how my dad was his usual self lol. Rest well Lois, you will be missed!❤️

  3. I certainly will miss Lois's Christmas card and update on her family. She always kept me posted of her trips to Gettysburg for hunting season. She indeed loved her family very much. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She has earned her wings and flies with the Angels ! Rest in Peace Dear Cousin!

  4. She was a very thoughtful lady. I hoped she finds my dad and she's at peace with the lord.
