She attended West Summit Grade School and graduated from Onida High School in 1951. She married Myrle Auch on June 5, 1952 in Onida. The newlyweds lived on a farm near Highmore for a short time before moving to Miller where she worked for a short time at the local ASCS office. In 1962, Louise and Myrle moved to a farm east of St. Lawrence.

  11. Terry and Donna Smokov says:

Our sincere condolences are being sent via this guest book and prayers to the Auch family. Louise and Myrle were wonderful neighbors when we lived in the Miller/St. Lawrence area. We loved Louise and Myrles’ waves and smiles as we drove by or stopped in to chat a minute with them. What wonderful people Lousie and Mryle were and they will be missed in so many ways.

  12. I was touched by the beautiful video tribute for Louise and Myrle. It showed their love for each other and their family. Truly a blessed family.

I knew Louise and Myrle Auch for many years as 4-H leaders and active members of their community.

“Mrs. Auch” drove school bus on our route southeast of St. Lawrence. I can’t count the number of years I rode the bus with Mrs. Auch at the helm. Vivid are the memories of that yellow school bus approaching from the south every school day morning. Mrs. Auch was forever cheerful; that positive attitude in her voice as she opened that bus door and greeted me with a “good morning.” She willingly carried on good conversations as the miles passed by. Rain, sleet, wind, and snow, and snow it did! More than once that bus, with Mrs. Auch driving, would charge those snow drifts or plow through the deep mud. She seemed to have “no fear!” I don’t remember Mrs. Auch ever missing a day of driving!

Though they weren’t relatives, Louise and Myrle were true friends. Whenever I came back to visit and ran into them, they both stopped to inquire and truly cared about my life. I last visited Louise in July 2011 while she was living at the care facility in Miller. She continued to maintain her cheerful, inquiring spirit which was so true throughout her life. She was one of a kind. Louise and Myrle both hold a special place in my heart.

  13. I had just learned that Mrs. Auch who had driven our school bus. we started riding in the spring of 1973. just my sister and my siblings followed a few years later. I too can remember Mrs. Auch would great as she opened the bus door for us.. Good morning or Good evening either way. she was always upbeat and cheerful. and yes we carried many conversations as we to and from school. I was amazed that she carried on as a School Bus driver for 32 years.. may she rest in peace.. I often thought of her when I was driving my own school bus years later though I did not drive for long perhaps just a few short years.
