Marcella Lander
January 12, 1935 ~ April 5, 2022
Marcella F. Lander, 87, of Miller, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at her home.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 23, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church, Miller, with Rev. Janice Palmer officiating. Burial will be at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Marcie (Aderhold) Lander was born January 12, 1935, in Castlewood, SD to William and Nealie (Ehrke) Aderhold. She graduated from Castlewood High School and attended a secretarial course in Mankato, MN.
Marcie married Norman Lander on October 24, 1953. They had one son, Lynn, and two daughters, Lori and Julie.
She moved to Miller with her husband and family in the fall of 1960. While in Miller, she worked for the Miller School System as a teachers aid and then an elementary secretary for 25 years.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir for 60 years. Marcie also taught Sunday school and served as an elder. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, golf course, and three bridge clubs.
Marcie was an excellent seamstress and liked to dance, golf, fish, camp, travel, and play bridge.
She is survived by one son, Lynn (Peggy) Lander; two daughters: Julie (Gerald) Cain and Lori (Rob) Girvin; one sister, Verlie McNamara; grandchildren: Brant (Monique) Lander, Colt (Heather) Cain, Tanner Cain, Kellen Girvin, Logan Girvin; great grandchildren: Kai Lander, Cor Lander, and Hunter Cain.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norm, her parents, two brothers: Kenneth and Dale Aderhold; and one sister, Phyllis Tuch .
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Marcie's arrangements.
