On November 9, 1952, she married Marlin Fischer in DeSmet. To this union, three children were born: Marla, Katheryn, and Jeffrey. Marlin and Marie later divorced. After she and Howard married, she enjoyed her time on the Blachford Ranch in the Orient Hills. She joined the Jolly Wrens Extension Club, served as President of the Faulkton School Board, was Sunday School teacher, and an active member of the Orient Lutheran Church. In Marie’s free time, she was an avid reader, collector of cookbooks, tended to her flower gardens, planted a vegetable garden, canned vegetables, and traveled extensively within the United States and Internationally. I just learned of your loved one's passing and am so saddened. Marie was such a lovely person and wonderful Mom. When I was in her presence, it was a home away from home. Know that she is far from any pain or worry of this world and rests in Jesus' arms. Her wonderful laugh is brightening heaven! Feel my hug, Marla, Jeff and all!
Always enjoyed seeing Marie. She was always eager to talk. We'll miss her.
Marla, Thinking of You and Your Family in the Loss of Your Mother. My heart is with all of you.
