He married Alyce Schweigerdt on October 29, 1952 in Miller, South Dakota. To this union five children were born. He began his married life working for the Jennings Brothers. In 1954, they moved to Miller and began working with his father-in-law at the movie theatres and Wilson Redi-Mix. He ventured out on his own and formed Oligmueller Construction.
In 1963, they purchased the Midway Drive-In and Princess Theatres. With the help of his wife Alyce, they ran the business until retiring in 2003. Marvin was a private cement contractor in the area for many years. In December of 2009, he entered the Miller Good Samaritan Living Center.
He enjoyed sports, hunting, gardening, and early morning coffee with his friends but fishing was his true passion. He cherished time he could spend with family and friends and always loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Cindy and all of the family, my sincere sympathy to all of you at the death of a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa. I remember the great smile he would have at basketball games when I would see him there, watching a grandson, he always seemed to enjoy himself. I had only wished I had got to see him in action at the drive-inn too. All the best to you during this time.
