Mary Ann Beidler, 91, of Polo, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at the Faulkton Senior Living Center, with family at her side.

Mary Ann was born on June 10, 1931, to Albert and Anna (Naber) Wieseler.  She attended the St. Liborius Grade School and graduated from Polo High School in 1950. After graduation, Mary Ann worked for the Orient Co-op until she married Elwood Beidler on November 8, 1955, at Polo, SD. To this union, they welcomed six children.  Elwood and Mary Ann farmed for six years in the Miranda, SD area until they purchased the farm south of Orient from her parents. In 1991, Mary Ann and Elwood relocated to Polo; in 2018, Mary Ann moved to the Faulkton Senior Living Center.

Mary Ann was a faithful member of the St. Liborius Catholic Church and an active member of the Christian Mothers. Mary Ann never missed a moment to be around her family and she will be remembered for her goodbye saying, “Will see you.” She enjoyed cooking, baking, and collecting recipe books. Grandma “B” will be remembered for her meatloaf, goulash, fried chicken, banana bars, and her love of angel food cake with strawberries and ice cream. Mary Ann loved to drive her car and at times would get the attention of others by honking her horn.  She loved to play cards, roll dice, earn bingo bucks, and “that there.”

Privileged to have shared in Mary Ann’s life are her children: Marilyn (Gary) Campbell, Marvin (Tracy) Beidler, Rick (Susan Baxter) Beidler, Carol (Jason) Poppens, and Brian (Audumn) Beidler; daughter-in-law, Diane Beidler; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Mewes; sister-in-law, Jean Beidler, special friend, De Johnson, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elwood (2004); son, Jim (2022); granddaughter, Michelle (2004); great-granddaughter, Alexa (2011); brother, Marvin Wieseler, sister, Eileen Stevens (2022); and several brothers and sisters-in-law.

The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff at the Faulkton Senior Living Center for their endless care and kindness of our mother over the past four years.

Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Mary Ann’s arrangements.
