Mildred M. Ramsdell, 93, of Faulkton, passed away, Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at the Faulkton Area Medical Center in Faulkton.

Funeral services were held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the United Church of Faulkton with Pastor Paul Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Faulkton City Cemetery, directed by Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton. Visitation was held two hours prior to the service at the church.

Mildred M. Deiter was born November 19, 1915 in Faulkton, South Dakota to Edward and Mae (Goodenough) Deiter. She attended school in Faulkton, graduating in 1933. She lived here until 1944.

On October 14, 1935 Mildred married Vern “Bun” Ramsdell. In 1944 they moved to Aberdeen where they remained for the next 26. Mildred spent these years working for Montgomery Ward’s and continued this after her move to Bismarck, ND in 1970, retiring in 1978. She then went spent the next two years working for Kings and Queens. In 1997 she returned to Faulkton where she enjoyed her family and friends until her passing.

Whether near or far, her family and friends were always close to her heart; as she surrounded herself with endless photos. She was a classy lady who loved to dance but not without her lipstick and heels.

Mildred is survived by her four nieces: Geraldine Holland of Ft. Myers, FL, Arlene (Jim) Jarvis of Yuma, CA, JoAnn Byrne of Seattle, WA and ReJean Bent of Faulkton; two nephews: Kenneth and Delmar (Loreve) Deiter of Faulkton; special friend: Darla Miller of Bismarck, ND and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1969; parents; special friend: Joe V. Kuhn; two brothers; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Mildred's arrangements.

    I will miss visiting you when I come back to visit everyone in Faulkton. You were always so fun to be around. I’m glad you moved back to Faulkton and got to be around family and they around you. We will always remember you and I will always remember that you were also my link to my Grandpa Charlie.
