Patricia Phinney

Pat Phinney, 77, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Ree Heights, passed away, Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Society in Miller.
Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Reck Funeral Home, Miller. Burial will be at Morningside Cemetery, Ree Heights, at a later date.
Pat was born October 19, 1944, in Miller to Reuben and Della (Melvin) Gimbel. She grew up on a farm north of Ree Heights. She attended grade school at Riverside township. She attended Miller High school and graduated in 1962. After graduation, she had brief job at the Miller hospital before moving to Sioux Falls where she attended South Dakota Hairstyling Academy. She was employed in Huron at Betty's Salon.
On September 24, 1967, she was married to her loving husband, Brent Phinney, they moved to Boulder, CO. Together they had two daughters: Paula and Bettina. In 1976, they moved their family to Sioux Falls, SD, where she had several trades as being a bus driver for the Sioux Falls schools, a baker at Augustana college and was a certified nursing assistant for many skilled nursing facilities over the years.
Pat enjoyed crocheting and sewing clothes and dresses for her daughter's weddings. She also loved spending time with her four granddaughters teaching them her traits of sewing and baking. She also loved playing games, taking walks to the park, and making homemade pizza every Friday night for her family.
Her memory will be cherished by her loving husband of 54 years, Brent; daughters: Paula Randen, Spirit Lake, IA and Tina (Steve) Underberg, Tea, SD; four granddaughters: Stevie (Jon Luke) Underberg, Tasha (Israel) Coelho, Kelsey Randen, and Katie (Evan) Underberg; four great-grandkids: Dayton Luke, Karsyn Luke, Jensyn Luke, and Matteo Coelho, two sisters: Vesta Christensen, Mitchell, SD and Stella (Denny) Brown, Burkburnett, TX; two brothers: Melvin (Jan) Gimbel and Delton (Shirley) Gimbel, both of Ree Heights; brother-in-law, Ron Selken; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Ruby Oldfield and Paulina Selken; two brothers: Reuben Gimbel, Jr. and Emanuel Gimbel; and infant niece, Tara Brown.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Pat's arrangements.
