Ronald Schillinger, 73, of Highmore passed away Monday, December 4, 2006 at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 8 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Highmore with David Peterson officiating. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday at Luze Funeral Home in Highmore.

Ronald Raymond Schillinger was born November 14, 1933 to Henry and Martha (Rupkalvis) Schillinger on a farm north of Harrold, SD. He attended school in Harrold and later joined the United States Army. While serving Ronald was stationed overseas in England.

On March 16, 1957 he was united in marriage to Betty McWeeny at Pierre. To this union five children were born. Over the years Ronald worked various places to include: a farm north of Pierre, both dams and the Homestake Gold Mine when his family relocated to Lead. Upon their return from Lead the family moved to Harrold where Ron worked for Harrold Pietz. After many years there the family moved to Highmore. Ron worked here as a mechanic until his retirement.

Some of his hobbies included fishing, camping and having his grandchildren and great grandchildren around him.

Left to cherish Ron’s life include his wife: Betty of Highmore; children: George (Carrie) Schillinger of Kissimmee, FL, Rebecca (Steve) Peters of Miller, Joey Schillinger of Pierre, Kenneth Schillinger of Mitchell and Sharon (Shane) Harvey of Pierre; 16 grandchildren; two great grandsons and one great granddaughter; two brothers: Robert (Helen) Schillinger of Hot Springs and Lyle (Marge) Schillinger of Gillette, WY and nine nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother Donald.
