Roxanne Rosas-Iron Wing

Roxanne (Rosas) Iron Wing, 42, of LaPlant, entered the spirit world, Monday, August 31, 2020 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
In compliance with the CRST Tribal Directives, a funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at the LaPlant Powwow Grounds, LaPlant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, LaPlant. A procession from the hill east of town will be 12:00 p.m., Wednesday.
Roxanne Rosas-Iron Wing was born to Rowena Bowker and Jody Tapio at the Eagle Butte I.H.S. She is the oldest of her siblings. Roxanne and her brother, Dion, were raised by her Aunt/Mom Darlene Rosas at a very young age. Darlene lived with her children in Pierre, where she worked as a nurse at the Pierre Nursing Home. Roxanne had her first child, Isiah Desmond Iron Wing, at a very young age. She went to Flandreau Indian High School for single mothers, then later returned to Pierre with her son. Later, her mother Darlene retired, and they moved back to LaPlant and resided there until her death. Roxanne's favorite hobbies was playing horseshoes, board games, or cards. She will be missed dearly by her daughter, Kobey Jazmine Iron Wing and son, Evan James Rosas.
Roxanne is survived by her mother, Darlene Rosas; daughter, Kobey Iron Wing; son, Evan James Rosas; brother, Dion and his girls; special friend Jared Cavenaugh; half-sister, Delise White Eagle; half-brothers, Nicholas White Eagle and Warren White Eagle,
She was proceeded in death by son, Isiah Desmond and grandfather, Jonas Bowker Jr.
Luce Funeral Chapel of Eagle Butte has been entrusted with Roxanne’s arrangements.
