Steve A. Glaesman was born May 22, 1952, to Alvin E. and Inez (Bader) Glaesman at Ft. Rucker, AL. After his dad was discharged from the military, they moved to Huron, SD where Steve graduated from high school in 1972.

On May 9, 1969, Steve married Mary Hall and to this union two daughters were born. During this time, he worked on construction with Mary’s dad.

In 1976, Steve moved to Watertown where he and his dad owned and operated Jimco Ready Mix. After the business closed, he started working road construction and later moved to Gettysburg, SD at South Whitlock Resort so he could enjoy more hunting and fishing.

On April 3, 1993, he married Nadine Jaragoske and to this union they had one son, Zachary “Zach”. Steve continued to work road construction until going to work in June of 1995 for CHS as a pellet mill operator. He retired from CHS in April 2016. Following his retirement, Steve enjoyed gardening, doing various remodel jobs on their trailer home, hunting, and fishing. After Nadine retired, they headed to Texas for warmer winter weather.

Steve especially enjoyed deer hunting when his son-in-law and grandsons would come along and fishing season so he could hoard all his fish so when the granddaughters called for a fish fry, he would have plenty.

His greatest joy was his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He glowed whenever he saw pictures of them.

Steve is survived by his wife Nadine, just two months short of 30 years of marriage; daughters: Amy (Dallas) Almond of Huron and April (Jayson) Drake of Sioux Falls; grandchildren: Chad (Amanda) Phillips, Whitney (Nick) Reimer, Macey (Cody) Bich, Ayden Almond, Matt (Amanda Edlund) Drake, and Dawson and Hudson Drake; great grandchildren: Everly Phillips, Bentley, Finley, Ford, and Eleanor (Lenny) Reimer, Elliott Bich, and Barron Bich.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Zach; mother and father-in-law; and many aunts and uncles.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Steve’s arrangements.
